Chef living in Tel Aviv, second year MA student in Diplomacy


About Me

From Suq to Shuk is an almost quotidian effort on my part to share my love of food with the world. I live in Tel Aviv near Shuk HaCarmel, and do the vast majority of my shopping there. I also search out quality meat, which is not ubiquitous in Israel, exotic spices, and uncommon produce to make my cooking as vibrant and varied as possible.

I am a student at Tel Aviv University doing an MA in diplomacy and am also a private chef. I was born and raised in New York City where I started cooking with my mother at an early age. I did my BA at McGill in Montreal where began cooking intensively in my final year. After graduating, I did a 3 month culinary course at Gastronomicom in Cap d'Agde, France, studying both cooking and wine.

I am available for hire as a private chef and offer tours of the shuks in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem, as well as the Arab Suq in Jerusalem. I invite you to comment on the blog and to contact me through the e-mail link provided here.
